New Features
Order History
Release 3.36 introduces an update to the Order History feature in PeakWMS. You can now view all movements and events that have occurred on an order directly from the order overview, similar to what is available in platforms such as Shopify.
This feature is introduced as a BETA version. This means we are still actively developing it, and there may be issues or missing functionality after implementation. If you have feedback, encounter any issues, or have other input, please contact Peak Systems.
All events are stored on individual orders. The history can be found at the bottom of the order overview for each order. A history panel will now display information about all actions performed on the order.
All movements that affect the order will be visible in the order history. This makes it easy to get an overview of:
- Who released the order
- When a shipping label was retrieved
- Whether more than one label was retrieved for the order
- What was picked and by whom
- What was returned
Events are displayed in chronological order and grouped by day. The most recent events appear at the top of the history.
Search the History
You can search the history using the search field located at the top of the history panel.
Filter Events
You can filter which event types are displayed in the history. Click the funnel icon to the left of the search field to access filtering options.
History Settings
On the far right of the search field, you will find History Settings. Here, you can choose which product identifier is used in the history. The available options are:
- Item Number
- Description
- Barcode
Only one identifier can be selected at a time. The selected identifier will be used to identify products throughout the history.
Pick Cart: Layout Update
The layout of the picking cart has been updated to make the cart boundaries more clearly visible.
In addition, load carriers on the cart are now highlighted more clearly. The load carrier that the user should pick to or replenish from is now emphasized to improve usability and visibility.
Other Updates
Menu/Search: CTRL+D
Pressing CTRL+D opens a popup where you can search for dialogs and tools within PeakWMS. This feature has been available in PeakWMS for a long time, but an enhancement has now been made to eliminate the need to use the mouse when selecting a dialog.
Users can now use the Down Arrow key from the search field to navigate directly through the list of dialogs. This allows users to select and open dialogs entirely from the keyboard.
Picking Groups: Differentiation of Shipping Method
When creating picking groups, it has been possible to create criteria based on two different Shipping Method fields in PeakWMS: one on the pick order and one on the outbound order. Previously, it was not possible to distinguish between these two fields.
If the shipping method on the pick order was used, orders would often fail to match the picking group, as very few orders in PeakWMS are created with a shipping method assigned to the pick order.
The two fields have now been differentiated so they can be clearly identified and used separately.
Bug Fixes
Dialogs
Table sorting is now stable across pages. PeakWMS now correctly uses the ID as a tiebreaker to ensure a consistent order for rows with identical values. This issue was particularly noticeable when sorting by fields such as Brand in Purchasing Requirements, where row order would change between pages, making it difficult to track products.
Business Central
PeakWMS now ensures stable synchronization of purchase orders from Business Central by generating a clear alert if an already received line is removed, instead of failing with a database error.
Cross-Docking
Cross-docking suggestions during goods receipt now propose the correct quantity by ignoring inventory reserved for older, unreleased orders.
Packing
The comments dialog is now displayed only once when packing manual orders without a load carrier, eliminating the need for packers to confirm the same comment twice.
Packing
Parked orders now correctly continue to the packing process and print shipping labels when "Ship What Has Been Picked" is selected after a zero-pick situation, instead of interrupting the process.
Put-away
When performing put-away, PeakWMS now directs the user to the next available location on the route when a suggested location is skipped, instead of repeatedly presenting the same location.
ShopifyPOS
PeakWMS now ensures that POS sales from Shopify POS are no longer silently ignored when no store zone is configured. Instead, an alert is generated to prevent inventory discrepancies.
Zone Picking
It is now possible to switch zones during zone picking even if lines have already been picked in other zones, as long as picking has not yet started in the selected zone.
Note: This applies to Zone Picking and not to Picking Zones or the Picking Algorithm.
